Artist's Statement

Why tires??  Motion.  My fascination with tire prints spans 40 years. I am captivated by a dirt parking lot with a tapestry of layer upon layer of patterns and textures from passing cars; the puzzling perfect print in the middle of an intersection; or the feel of hardened sand at the beach from a passing ATV.   I'm amazed at how these patterns that surround us daily can become something altogether different when repeated or juxtaposed.
